Supreme Court Sittings.

(Per Press Association). Wellington, This day. At the Supreme Court Wm. Gillespie, formerly a clerk in the Post Office at Masterton, who had pleaded guilty to forging postal orders, was released on probation for two years and was ordered to pay the costs, £l9 2s 6d, in two months. Arthur Duncan, for the theft of a bicycle, was granted probation for twelve months and to pay the costs, £8 2s. John Dalton, convicted on two charges of theft aud false pretences, asked for probation, but the Judge pointed out that he had already served four sentences and was now convicted for two more crimes within a short space of time. He was sentenced to three years' hard labor 011 each charge, sentences to run concurrently. In the case against Mrs Dalton for theft, the Crown entered a nolle ]«wqui.
This leaves only two cases on the list, and the charge of attempted murder against Entwisfcle s now pro-
