Correspondence.

[We do not hold ourselves responsible for the opinion of correspondents.] JUBILEE CELEBRATION. [To The Editor.] Sir, —"What is Hastings going to do in the matter of illumination on the night of the 22nd ? You, Sir, have already asked the question, but it is as yet unanswered. Might I respectfully suggest that Mr Fitzßoy be asked to convene a meeting of citizens to consider the matter, and appoint a committee to thoroughly canvass the town and see if it cannot be done in some systematic manner so as to be effective. If a determined effort is made to have the thing done, and done intelligently, Hastings could make a very fine display. In fact I think it would be almost a revelation to most of Hastings folk if they saw their city thoroughly lit up.—l am, &c., Fairy Light.
