John Douglas has been adjudged a bankrupt on the petition of J. P. DuMouhn. The Northern Steamship Company shows a net profit on the past year of £3606. It pays a dividend of seven per cent, and carries forward £1062. The decision of the Nautical Court enquiry into the accident to the boiler of the Harbor Board's Dredge 121, was that the chief engineer, William Stewart, was guilty of wrongful default in net using the salinometer daily to detect the density of salt in the boilett. The Court suspended Stewart's certificate for three months, and ordered him to pay the costs of the inquiry. ..w " Wellington, This day.
