Wesleyan Concert and Social.

—.— A most successful concert antisocial was held at the Wesleyan Church last evening in aid of the funds of the Sewing Bee. Thora was a g>od atten - dance and Rev. Mr Martin presided. The concert opened with a pianoforte overture by the Misses Evans and Neili, •which was received with applause. Mrs H. Symonds rendered " Juanita " very tastefully, and she was succeeded on the programme by the Misses Menzi&f (violin), Neill (violin) and Evjjw".pta-so) in an instrumental trio " La Serevata," in which they displayed considerable power of execution and expression. Mrs Castle and Jliss Mnriel Foreman played a pianoforte duet, which well deserved the decided approbation bestowed by the audience. Elsie Evans, a mite of seven summer.-, surprised everyone by her rendering of the pretty action son? " Slumber," which evoked an imperative encore, to which she responded ; but the young lady declined to appear a third time. Miss Lottie James showed much discrimination in her selection of the song the " Golden Shore," which suited her voice to a nicety. Miss Neiil next appeared in a violin solo, " The Harp that Once," which showed that young lady's capabilities to perfection ; and the two violin solos byMiss Menzies were also well received. During the evening the Rev. Mr Martin congratulated the members of the Sewing Bee on the success attained by them, and encouraged them to further efforts in the cause of charity. The reunion concluded with an excellent coffee supper provided by the congregation.
