CONFERENCE OF MINISTERS OF AGRICULTURE. REGULATIONS FOR THE FUTURE. AN INDIGNANT DENIAL TO MR DIG BY'S STRICTURES. < Pit i'ress Association. —(.'opt/rir/fil i. Sydney, May 17. The Conference of Ministers of Agriculture resolved to favor establishing an intercolonial stock institute, obtaining a reduction of freights on exported produce, and securing regularity of shipments ; that the inspection and branding of frozen meat be insisted on in all colonies as a guarantee of being sound and free from disease, and branding dairy produce and other perishable products ; that the inspection of miik sources be made compulsory ; that advantage be taken of the presence of the Premiers in England to inquire into the possibility of improving and extending the distribution of An st r a Ifa n products. With reference to the recent allegations in the House of Commons that Australian meat is of inferior quality and rendered consumers liable to disease, the Agricultural Conference has resolved that the allegations were without foundation or warrant, statistics having proved that the number of cattle suffering from tuberculosis in the colonies L insignificant compared to Great Britain, while the cattle and meat are subjected to most rigid inspection. The resolution has been cabled to the Agents-General, who will give it the widest publicity.
