The Late Floods.
THE RELIEF FUND The Auckland Trotting Club will hold a meeting on the Record Reign day, and the whole of the proceeds, after paying stakes and actual expenses, will be devoted to the Relief Fund. According to the Post, " The Town Clerk of Wellington asked the Mayor of Napier whether it was desired that any part of the Wellington fund should be expended in the purchase of goods in this city for the sufferers of the floods. His Worship replied that the Central Committee is in no hurry for money. No cash is being distributed at present, but tbe committee is desirous of knowing from time to time the state of the funds which are being raised in the districts outside Napier." The following further donations have been received by the Mayor of Napier :—Mrs Welsman, £3 3s ; Erewhon station, £10; Westport (first instalment £75 ; Cran by and Co.'s sales, £2 7s 9d ; Elmshill station, £2; manager Tuki Tuki station and employes, £ls ; Edenham station and employes, £9 8s ; Edenham station (widows and orphans), £1 10s 6d; Bank of Australia, £lO 10s ; Timaru borough district (third instalment), £6O ; Hokitika (citizens of town), £3l lis 7d; Mr and Mrs W. -J. Birch, £6; W. Nelson, Tuki Tuki station, £5; I. H. Lougbnan, £5; F. L. Tiffen, jjMjhßiiill, £2. Widows and orphans jfitd:—T. Feilding 10s 6d, R. T. Tipping 10s, C. H. Lock 10s.
