The March on Domoku.
THE TURKS CLOSING IN. FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF SMOLENSKI. THE HARVEST PROSPECTS. Athens, May 13. The Turkish forces under Edhem Pasha are within two hours' march of Domoku. The right wing of the army is at Karabur, and the left wing at Kasidara, a mountain on the road from Phersala. Domoku is exposed to an attack from the rear, which probably is the result of the capture of the Greek army. The absence of news from General Smolenski, who retreated upon Sourpi, occasions fear. The Turks are developing a flanking movement with a view of hemming the Greeks in. Unless peace is proclaimed before the ensuing harvest Greece will lose 40,000,000 drachmas by the destruction of the crops. The crops already destroyed as a result of the war are valued at 20,000,000 million drachmas, and the live stock captured by the Turks is estimated to be worth 18,000,000 drachmas.
