Turkish Assaults Repulsed.
THE GREEKS HOLD THE EAVENE PASS. MORE SOLDIERS FOR THE FRONT. THE UNSPEAKABLE TURK BOMBARDS A HOSPITAL. Athens, April 21. The Duke of Sparta reports that the Greeks, under Colonel Smolinitz, the former Minister of War, repulsed seven assaults of the Turks on positions in Ravene Pass. Fourteen thousand Turks were engaged in the attack. The Pass commands one of the chief entrances to Thessaly. The Greek Home Office has issued a proclamation declaring Cosmery in danger, and calling upon all citizens to join the army. The Greek gendarmes and police have been organised as a small military force, and have proceeded to the frontier to reinforce the troops. The Turks have bombarded the military hospital at Arta, despite the fact that the red cross flag was Hying. In the fighting which took place near Salonica the Greek irregulars lost 100 men. Constantinoplk , April 21. The second Turkish squadron, consisting of three ironclads, five torpedo vessels, and four steamers, which have been converted into auxiliary cruisers, sailed through the Straits of Dardanelles under sealed orders.
