A NFMIiER OF POLES WASHED OFT. As a natural result, the telegraph line has suffered with other parts, and in sections givtt holes have been hollowed out through the terrifie currents that have swept about the poles. The wires have been broken in places, but every expedition will be made in restoring communication, and it is expected that the temporary arrangements will be so far complete as to allow of messages being sent through in a day or two.
