Hawke's Bay Jockey Club.

AUTUMN MEETING. The following races were run after we went to press yesterday : Trial—Del ford 1, Popgun 2, Straybird 3. Div., £1 7s. Time., 1-53 2-sth. Railway—Torpina 1, Forest Rose 2, Sedgebrook 3. Div., £l7 14s. Time., lmin 16 l-sth sec. SECOND DAY. The Hawke's B.ty Jockey Club are again favored with a beautiful day for the conclusion of meeting. The attendance is almost as large as yesterday, and the City Band are again in attendance. Mr E. Winsley is hard at it supervising the catering establishment, and the booths are kept very active. The fields, as yesterday, are large, and some of the finishes equally exciting. The presence of the yellow jacket and black cap of Mr G. G. Stead added a considerable amount of interest to the contest for the Hawke's Bay Stakes. The following are the results : March Handicap, of 100 sovs; second horse 10 sovs from the stake. 1 mile. F. Moeller's blk g Torpina, 4yrs, 8s t 61b (Derret-tl "... 1 W. J. Hamon's br m Huna, 4yrs, Bst (Whittaker) 2 Hon. J. P. Onnond'sb m Martyrdom, 7st olb (A. White) ..." ... 3 Golden riover and Sabreur were scratched. Considerable delay was Occasioned at the post, but eventually Mr Piper let the seven horses away to an even start. Lotion next to the rails was the first to show in front, but the lead was instantly token from him by Torpina, who led the field down the back stretch pulling double, with Petroline and Martyrdom his nearest attendants, and Leontini whipping in. At the railway bend the field closed on the leaders, and Huna landed first into the straight, with The Miser and Lotion coming fast. A great race resulted up the straight between the placed horses, Huna looking all over a winner, when the son of Torpedo shot out and won by half a length from Huna, Martyrdom a good third, The Miser fourth, Petroline fifth, Lotion sixth, and Leontini last. All started. When the word was given Prince Charlie shot to the front mid led the tield over the first jump, followed by Secrecy, Tally-ho, Rhino. Britannia, Tiriten, and Tenby. At the second jump Rhino and Secrecy went to the front, the former going strong. Passing the stand the field closed up and jumped almost together. Here Tiritea made a forward move and for a moment assumed the premier position. Passing down the back stretch the second time Secrecy was beaten, and Tenby who was away in the rear started to move up. As the hurdle at the bend was reached the green jacket of Prince Charlie was seen to shoot to the front, and jumped the last hurdle with a lead of six lengths. Tenby closed 011 the winner but failed to reach the post first. Secrecy and Tiritea last. Totalise tor, .£596 ; on winner, £67. Div., .CB. Time, 4mins lsec.

Picklock's colors were tho first to show in front, and with Multiform led the field down the back with Day Star whipping in. At the homo turn the yellow jacket assumed the lead, and coining on full of running won by tv neck from Sir Lancelot, St (,'onon a good third. Defiant was last. Stray Bird made the running throughout and looked all over a winner, but I'arker brought Te Niello through at the finish and won by three lengths auiid enthusiastic cheering.
