TRAINING NOTES

The morning was fresh and a good number of touts in attendance, but no sensational work was performed. The Brook and Waterstone were the first to strip, and galloped a mile and aquarter at a sound pace, The Brook finishing strong. Flintlock and Haria were associated over a mile at three-quarter pace. The Cup horse was a bit thick in the wind at the finish. Straybird and Petroline jumped off at the six furlong post and finished well together. New Forest and Lotion put in a couple of rounds at half-pace, both horses moving freely. Tire, Primula, and Ciolden Plover were sent a mile and a-quarter, and raced together over the journey. The Miser and The Shrew jumped off at the mile and a-quarter post and were joined by Torpiiui at the six furlong post. The Torpedo gelding pulled hard all the way and finished very strong. The Miser was eased oil' in the straight. Orion's Belt was on the track but was not worked. Prince Charlie was put over the small sticks, and shaped very well. AVakelin and Nightingale were .sent four furlongs on the grass, finishing together. Barshot put in slow work, moving particularly well. Tally-ho, Daphne, liliino, Fi/.zaro, Tho Plug, and Forfarshire each put in useful work. Day Star was worked slowly over a couple of rounds. Multiform jumped oil' at top at tho five furlong post and finished very strong. Bijou and Brennun finished together at the end of a four furlong flutter. St Conon defeated Dottrel over sis furlongs.
