It isproballe that Marino and Arquebus will shortly be sent to Melbourne. I have been asked by Mr Percy Martin to deny the statement now being circulated in the papers that 2>lr .7. Gardner, of Melbourne still retains a third share in Ebor. At the tune Kbor was pin-cased Percy Martin was in Melbourne and handed MiGardner a cheque for the full amount of the price of the horse. It is a strange thing, too, that Mr Gardner has has only allowed this supposed share to become known since the horse has been winning. Geo. Hope has Heavenly Twin in good buckle at present. I understand it is intended to put the daughter of Castor over hurdles. The Wanganui bred horse Pampero, by Sou'-wester from Sunshine, won the Summer Cup at Menzies iW.A.» on Boxing l>ay. My many sporting rerders will regret to hear of the death of the wife of H. Reeves, the local trainer. Daystur's yearling brother, recently purchased by Mr Stead, has been named Altair. Irish Twist is again in work and may be seen out at the Wangamu March meeting. In the last six years Mornington Cannon has ridden 1.002 winners. The N.Z. Derby winner l-'lorrie s first foal, a colt by Trenton, broke his leg while running in a paddock and had to be destroyed. A number of Mr Broughton's thoroughbreds will be sold at Hastings on Wednesdav.
