THE RONTGEN RAYS.
A FURTHER DISCOVERY
(l'cr Press Association.—Copyright.)
Sydney, Jan. 29. An interesting discovery affecting the Rontgen rays has been made by Mr Filmer, an electrical engineer in the Eaihvay Department. Hitherto the radiagraphs produced showed foreign substances in bodies, but failed to demonstrate the depth they were embedded. Mr Filmer shot a bird, took radiographs from two different angles, and developed them in the usual way. These he placed in an ordinary stereoscopic, and obtained a clear, well-defined stereoscopic view giving excellent perspective, and enabling him to locate to a nicety the fatal pellet. The whole internal arrangement of the bird was clearly defined. The discovery will to a great extent obviate the probing of wounds now necessary.
