Williams went in, and a good stand was made. At 47, McMurray took the ball from Bates, and a couple of runs later, the fresh trundler bowled Warren, who had made 81 in good style. Holdship followed, and the score rose steadily until it reached 76, when North went on to bowl vice Malone. Twenty runs later, T). Reoee took the ball from McMurray, and the century was posted a couple of overs afterwards. The total mounted rapidly, Holdship in particular scoring very frequently. At 121, a double change was tried, Bates and Clark going on to drive, but after each had sent down a maiden play was adjourned for lunch, with the total at 121 for two wickets.
