There are one hundred and thirty witnesses. Washington, Dec. 22. The Hon J. G. Carlisle, -eetetary to the Treasury, reported to Congress that 470,000,000 dollars of notes had been redeemed once in pold, and 100,000,000 twice. The notes were still being issued and he urged their -withdrawal.
