Sad Drowning Case.
PLUCKY ATTEMPT AT RESCUE BY AN ELDER BROTHER. [By Telegraph] (/Vr iV'-v Avckl-vni". Dec. IS. Jeremiah Olive, aged 9 was drowned while bathing at Helcnsville. Two bovs aged 13 and 11 tried, to rescu6*biui but failed. His brother, aged 14, hearing of the alarm, ran down to the bank and j limped in with his clothes on and reached the deceased just as the latter s head was coming to the surface. The drowning lad put his arms around his brother's neck but immediately afterwards let go and sank. The jury expressed a high opinion of the bravery of the boys who had attempted to "rescue deceased, especially his brother.
