Papakura Notes.
On: Own Correspondent." Nov. 20. A very successful concert was held here last evening. The Rev, Mr Clarke and his brother brought over a large number of petormers from Taradale. and treated the l'apakuraites to a musical treat. The performers consisted of the Rev. Mr Clarke. Messrs Ilarplain, Howard. Corbin, Sellar, Nichol. Clarke, Parker, and a talented violinist from Napier, whose name I was unable to get. The proceeds, in aid of the organ fund, were very satisfactory ; and, in addition, Mr Russell, M.11.R., Messrs A. L. I). Eraser, Stodbart, o'Rourke. Waterhouse, and Wield, have given a promised subscription towards the same object. Good church services, Sunday school, and a first class instrument, free of debt, will soon be an accomplished thing. I regret to have to inform the public that the Government have seen tit to refuse our application for a post office ; but the request will shortly be repeated. The refusal seems against the weight of facts put forward by the people, but we must hope for the future.
