The Chief Secretary is in receipt of a despatch from the Secretary for the Colonics communicating the invitation of the French Government to Great lUitain ;'n<l the colonic to take part in the Universal International Exhibition in Pari-* in IOUO. The Government are now in communication with a view of ascertaining if the proposal is favorably received here. Am.i.uriK, Nov. 18. In the Assembly the Colored Races Restriction Hill w;is passed. A motion to continue the progressive income tax for another year, but to raise the exemption from 1'12.> to t'l">o, was introduced.
