A Nasty Accident.

[Special to Standard.]

Nelson, This day.

A general half-holiday was observed yesterday, the anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar. Amateur athletic sports was the principal attraction. In the three-mile bicycle race, the last event of the day, a small boy named Thomas Lowe, ran across the track and was knocked down by A. W. Shallcross, who was riding fast. The latter came down violently, breaking his right wrist and spraining his left thumb, besides receiving bruises about the body. The boy also received a nasty scalp wound.
