The Hons Messrs Kelly, lionar, Richardson, and I>r Grace were appointed manag* rs to confer with the managers of the House on the Hanking Bill, the managers previously appointed being unable to ;tgrec. In the House yesterday afternoon it was resolved to place on record the appreciation of the services of Mr Seddon ami Sir Robert Stout rend- rut gratuitously to the colony in connection with the New Zealand Midland Railway Arbitration. The Premier stated that he would accept the amendments made by the Council in the Banking Hill, and moved that the managers of the House to meet the managers from "another place" be the Premier, the Hon J. McKeozie, and Messrs Bell, Tanner, and Gmnne«. On the House resinning it was reported that the conference had been nnable to come to any agreement. The House managers had agreed to the Council's amendment with regard to the appointment of director-, but no decision w;>- arri\« d at with regard to the disqualification clause. The salary of the directors had been restored t>> I f')o. Another conference was arranged for, and its . th»r:- to come to an amicable arrangement were as futile as its predecessor.
