DONALD M'KINNON HAS A FALL
THE RIDER INJURED
TRACK WORK,
Sydney, September 3. While engaged in schooling work at Randwick to-day the New Zealand chaser Donald M'Kibbon turned a complete somersault over the stone wall. Accounts as to the extent of the injuries sustained by the horse are diverse ; one stating that he was only severely shaken, another that he will not race again. Redmond the jockey had one of his arms broken, Sept. 4. Foggy weather interferes with training. Reka had all the best of Akarina over a mile and a quarter. In a furlong less Lochleigh did an excellent run. The son of Lochiel is in fine condition, and covered the distance in 2min o^sec. Tire beat Gabrietach easily over one round of the course proper, the mile being cut out in lmin Slsec. The Derby colt went strong all the way. First Shot beat Royal Rose over a similar distance, while Response had Cartridge at his mercy in a mile and a quarter in 2min 21sec. Nada beat Trentham without an effort. Newhaven is in splendid health, and is doing strong work.
