THE A.M.P. SOCIETY.
AMENDING THE BYE-LAWS. Sydney, August 29. At a special meeting of the A.M.P. Society to consider the report of the committee appointed at the last annual meeting to make certain amendments in the bye-laws, tlie chairman stated that the amendments submitted to the meeting were unanimously agreed to by the committee after consultation with the representatives of each of the local boards throughout colonies. Included in the amendments, as at first submitted by the committee, was a proposal to enable the society to establish and maintain a business in London, but as it was not arrived at unanimously, the board thought it better not to submit it to the membars. He might tell the meeting, on behalf of the board, that if ever such a proposal was submitted it would be in such a way that nothing would interfere with the members giving a clear vote with regard to that matter alone. The amendments, with two exceptions—where a majority was in favor of them, but a ballot was demanded — : were carried unanimously.
