The Petone Murder.
AN ARREST MADE. [By Telegraph.] [Special to Standard.] Wellington, This day. A young married man mimed James Shore has been arrested in connection with the Petone tragedy. The crime clearly points to robbery being intended, as Jones was supposed to have a good sum in his possession. It is thought that the perpetrator tried to blind the old couple by throwing pepper in their faces, and that when Jones resisted he was stabbed. Mrs Jones received a deep gash in her side. Shore is said to have been drinking | on Thursday night. He was brought before the Court this morning, but the case was remanded. The police are busy making enquiries.
