The Banking Inquiry.

Special to Standard. Wellington, This day. The Council Committee on banking have during the past twenty-four hours re-examined the Hons. DownieStewart and G. McLean. It is understood ft hat their evidence is now exhausted. Later. The Banking Committee of the Council have adjourned till Wednesday to procure answers to interrogations forwarded to Mr John Murray at Sydney. It is expected that the Committee will take a week thereafter framing their report.
