The following public works appropriations have been made : —Midland Railway, £1175 ; Whan gar ei—Kamo Railway extension, £593 ; Haldane Farm Settlement, £SOO ; Makohine Viaduct, £1900; completion defence works, Wellington, £785. Percy Morgan has been appointed assistant lecturer at the Thames School of Mines.
