At a meeting of the World's Socialist Workers held Jn London, there were seven hundred delegates present, and resolutions were passed demanding eight hours as a day's work and universal suffrage. Paris, July 27. M. Jules Cambon, Governor-Gene-ral of Algeria, urges the necessity for seizing the grain-producing country, so as to prevent robber tribes from obtaining supplies. He declares that starvation is the only thing to check the nomadic tribes. Bbussells, July 27. Johnson, the editor of the Seamen's Chronicle, has been expelled from Antwerp for promoting a dock strike. Cairo, July 27. Lieutenant Fen wick and burgeon Trask have died of cholera at Akogheh. Constantinople, July 26. The Porte is sending further reinforcements to Crete. A band of armed Greeks from Thesealy entered Niaosta, in Macedonia, where harvesting is proceeding, and killed 80 peasants. July 27. The agitation in Macedonia is proceeding. Madrid, July 27. Spain has purchased two new cruisers at Genoa. Berlin, July 27. Germany is contributing a portion of the new Russian loan. Washington, July 27. Mr Watson has been nominated by the Populist party as Vice-president.
