* r THE JAPANESE IN FORMOSA. GERMANY'S SUKPLUS. Loxdos, July 20. It is reported that the Japanese are decimating the Chinese in Formosa, and it is stated that 1000 people have been killed and a number of villages destroyed. Li Hung Chang, speaking of Britain's trade with China, says the commercial rights of England and France will be equally balanced by the Chinese Empire. IkiiLis, July 20. The German surplus for the year amounts, to 11.000,000.
