EESULTS OF PUPIL TEACHERS' EXAMINATION. [From Our Own Correspondemt.] Napier, this day. At the Education Board meeting to-day, the Inspector's report oil the pupil teachers' examination was read as follows : —" Thirteen pupil teachers were up for the first year, thirteen for the second year, and ten for the third year examination. No fourth year teachers were examined, as these are now required to enter for the Certificate examination in January to comply with the requirements for a pass. Much of the work sent in is of a good quality, and the style generally satisfactory. Some of the first year candidates showed weakness in a number of important subjects, whilst with second year teachers the work most neglected is English especially, that being of poor quality. In sewing, some of the teachers complained that they had received no instructioi in sewing. This is contrary to ' the Board's regulations, and headmasters must see to its being carried out."
