THE WARD ASSOCIATION.
As w« indicated the other day the next move in the Ward-cum-Colonial Dank business would be the liquidation of the -T. G. Ward Association. This is confirmed by the appointment of Mr Cook of Messrs Cook and Gray as provisional liquidator. That this was the course to be followed was made very clear in the remarks of Judge Williams when he said : " That the career of the Association should be brought to an end and its proceedings investigated, and that those who were responsible for its management should no longer be permitted to roam at large through the business world, is a result so obviously desirable in the interests of commercial morality that it ought, if possible, to be attained." The ball having been set rolling we may be sure that it will bump against many financial mud-heaps, the impact of which will give the ball a further impetus. We feel quiet sure that theie are many sensations in store that will shock the morals of the commercial world. The ultimate result must be good, for the fields of finance and commerce will be well rid of a band of financial frauds.
