Pollard's Opera Company.
This popular combination will arrive from the South on Saturday, and -\vill commence a season of six nights on Monday, The initial production will bo Planquc-tte's celebrated comic opera " Paul Jones.'' This work is acknowledged as the most tuneful of all modern operas, and it is also reckoned as the best thing Mr Pollard's clever company has ever done. The New Zealand Herald in criticising this performance said, ' ; Mr Pollard has produced many operas in New Zealand, some well, and several exceedingly well, but he has never given us anything as good as his last effort. It is without any ' possible doubt whatever ' the best all round production of comic opera yet seen in the colony." The box plan is now open at Hunt's, and a large number of seats have been booked. The season tickets are also going off well, and the season promises to be a record one. Mr Pollard deserves well of the amuse-ment-loving public, as lie stages his operas in a most complete manner.
