Political Notes.

Sir Robert Stout addresses the Hastings electors on Thursday evening. Mr G. J. Smith addressed his constituents at Christ-church last night, and received a vote of confidence. The Hon. J. M'Kenzie, Minister of Lands, addressed a crowded meeting at Auckland last evening. After speaking for two hours and a half a vote of thanks to the Minister was carried with an expression of unabated 'confidence in the present Government. Captain Russell addressed a public meeting at Invercargill last night. The attendance was the largest ever assembled there for a similar object, many ladies being obliged to stand in the passages. The speaker had a good reception and a most courteous hearing, and at the conclusion was accorded a vote of thanks.
