A FRENCH CRIME.

CABLES.

A YOUNG MAN MURDERED FOR GAIN.

THE CULPRITS SECURED

Paris, May 24,

Two person named Castel, man and wife, conveyed to Paris from Courbevoie a trunk containing the naked corpse of a young man. Suspicion was aroused by the smell, and the trunk was opened by the officials. The Castels explained that they had been employed to convey the body in a trunk to avoid the expense of a coffin, but as they gave a false address they were arrested. The corpse has been identified as that of a man named Delaehaif. The discovery has caused a sensation in the city. The Castels have since confessed that they murdered Delachaief with a hatchet, and were endeavouring to get rid of the remains. Money and property belonging to the victim were found on the prisoners.
