AGAINST A SOUTH OF ENGLAND TEAM.

London, May 21. The fouth match of the tour was commenced to-day against a South- of England team. The Englishmen had by no means a strong team, being considerably weakened by four leading counties not playing. The following is the team :—lvortwright, Brann, Mason, Hearn, Eartin, Mead, Rrown, Butt, Ranjitsinhji, Bruce, and Marshall. The Australians were the first to bat, and were at the wickets all day, making 258 runs for six wickets. Darling and Giffen made a prolonged stand, each batting in grand style, and made 115 runs. The last three wickets fell for 18. ■
