THE WOMEN'S VOTE.
Adelaide, May 10. Mrs E. W. Nicholls, the president of the Adelaide Women's Christian Temperance Union, when asked to express an opinion regarding the results of the South Australian elections, said that the elections must, 011 the whole, be regarded as most satisfactory by those who worked for the enfranchisement of women. " That so large a number of women recorded their vote-*, and that they did so in a business like and intelligent manner, proves," Mrs Xicholls says, " that the power of the ballot is appreciated : and their keen interest in the result gives further evidence of this fact. That more than ordinary good behaviour prevailed at the polling places and in the streets proves that the presence of women tended to order, while it did 110 c check any harmless fun or stiile any expressions of approval or disapproval ihat were kept within reasonable bounds."
