The success of the West Australian loan of £750,000 at 3 per cent, must be gratifying to all the colonies, more especially to New Zealand, which set the example. The amount tendered was nearly four and a half times the amount required, and the average price was €IOO lGs Bd, yielding the investor a fraction under :> per cent. There have been four issues of three-per-cent. loans during the past twelve months, and each succeeding issue has realised a higher price than its predecessor.
