The referendum is practically completed, and tne following is the result: —50,600 favour the present system of education, and 17,500 oppose it ; 18,500 approve Bible reading in schools, while 84,800 are against it; 13,090 voted in favour of a capitation grant to denominational schools, and 41,800 opposed.
