London, April 28. B. Smith, late Chairman of South Australian Railway Commissioners, is appealing to Mr Speight's friends to raise the amount of security to enable him to appeal to the Privy Council against the judgment in the libel action against the Age. The amount of security fixed by the Victorian Court is considered excessive.
