STATE BANK PROPOSAL
MILITARY PREPARATIONS
Melbourne, April 27
The Premier is preparing a Uil! which he intends to introduce next session providing for the establishment of a State Bank on the Credit Foncier system. He states that he is fully convinced of the practicability of a State Bank within certain limits:
As the result of inquiries in England, Colonel Harman, Military Adviser, has advised the Government, at a cost of from £30,000 to £35,000, to establish a cordite factory in Australia. A previous estimate of the colonial ■ nrhoriti<-3 was from £6,000 to £7,000.
