An inquest was held in Melbourne on the body of a woman named Jane Grainger, 70 years of age, who was found dead in an old shed. The deceased obtained her living by begging, and kept a number of dogs, two of which were found watching by her corpse. The body was covered by some old bags, and the surroundings were of the most wretched and squalid description. The medical evidence showed that death resulted from debility, and a verdict to that eSect was returned.
