It has been decided not to open a Lord Mayor’s fund for the unemployed, Sir R, Hansen having advised an increase of local relief instead. The unemployed demand that the Metropolitan Board of Works shall erect artisans’ houses forthwith aud threaten to come in thousands and compel them to acquiesce. The Board has referred the matter to a committee.
