VATICAN AND IRELAND.
M. PERSIUO'S REPORT. POPE ADVISES PACIFIC AGITATION. London, October 25. M. Persico, the Papal envoy that was sent to Ireland to enquire into the conduct of the clergy and report upon the condition of the people, reports that the Li h Bishops and clergy declare that they are unable to change the hostile attitude of the people toward Great Britain. The Pope is anxious to meditate, and declares that he will allow no occasion to escape him f r recalling to the Irish Catholics that it is their duty and interest to separate their cause, from that of the anarchists, and to limit themselves to tbe claiming of their rights by a legal and pacific agitation.
