The Playful Captain.
THE OUTWITTED DETECTIVE AGAIN OUTWITTED. WmxntaroN, last night. , Captain Orr was brought before the Supreme Court on Wednesday, to answer the charge of alleged rescue of a prisoner in April of 1882. Orr has command of the barque Peru, and a levanter had been followed on board by a detective, but the captain would not wait for the detective to arrest hia man, and swinging his anchor and putting out the sails, it was only on secondary consideration the detective would be allowed to get back to land. The affair caused much interest at the time, and has since been a standing joke against the detective, who said he would have his redress yet. The case naturally was looked forward to for a few grains of amusement, but a verdict of not guilty was returned, and Captain Orr left the Court, his face beaming with smiles.
