THE COERCION BILL.
SEVERE CRITICISM. Londox, [August 24. Mr Jacob Bright and three other members of the Radical party will attend the Nationalist demonstration to be held at Dublin on Tuesday next to protest against the proclamation under the Crimes Act for the suppression of the National League. Eighty Gladstonians have joined the Irish National League. OPINIONS OF THE PBESS. Lateb. A general opinion is expressed that th e Government have undertaken a very difficult task in attempting to suppress the National League. The Gladstonians have nearly all joined the League, and it will be difficult to cope with the strengthened forces of the Irish National Party. The Times calls for the immediate putting into force of the law, even should English members of Parliament have to be arrested.
The Standard, a leading Tory organ, counsels moderation, whilst the Gladstonian Daily News says the new departure of the Gladstonians will bring the policy into utter ridicule and contempt.
