A GLADSTONIAN VICTORY.
A MAJORITY OF 1,129.
London, August 15. Thr election tor the Parliamentary representation of the Norwich division of Cheshire vacant by the death oi Mr R. Verden, has resulted in the return of Mr J. T. Brunner, an Home Buler, who defeated his opponent, Lord Henry GeOtge Grosvenor, a Unionist, by a majority Of 1,129. 'This is rather a significant victory for the" Home Rulers, for a son of the Duke of Westminster, as is Lord Grosvenor, would be a doughty antagonist to meet. Beaders will remember that it was at Norwich that Lord Salisbury made a great speech in favour of Coercion a week or so ago. His eloquence has had small effect on the Norwich men. Slowly and surely the tide is beginning to turn.
