FRANCE BACKS DOWN.
ITALY SUPPORTS ENGLAND. Paris, August 2. The French Government have issued a circular to the Bowers to the eSect that France will not object to any measures England may take to re-open the Egyptian Convention question, Italy is supporting the English Government in the matter, and it is expected that fresh negotiations as to the date at which the evacuation will take place, are shortly to be started.
