TE KARAKA.

(owx COBBtSPON’DEKT.) The inauguration of the Karaka Football Club took place on Saturday afternoon in Parker’s paddock. Play commenced about two o’clock, and from the appearance of the members I think the Club will be a success. They appear to be a fine body of young men, having plenty of agility and muscular strength, their running being good. The Club is composed of Europeans and Maoris. The ground was wet and slippery causing some heavy falls. A great feature in the play was the good humour and order that prevailed. ,

The Bev. M ■ McAra held a service in the school house on Sunday morning, and gave a very able address to the congregation. The attendance was not very large owing to the very heavy rain that fell in the early morn*ng.
