MORE DISMISSALS RUMOURED.

Rumours were current in town yesterday that Messrs Greenwood, the Registrar and Clerk of the R.M. Court, and Mr D. Johnson, the Collector of Customs, had received notice of dismissal from the Department. Upon enquiry, however, we find that neither of the two gentlemen .named had received any official intimat ion to the above effect and we are at a It >ss to understand whence the rumours etnanated. We sincerely trust there is no truth in the report, as both are hardworking, and popular, public servants whom it would be difficult to replace and whose dismissal would meet with the hearty disapproval of the community.
