THE GOVERNOR OF MAURITIUS CAUTIONED.

London, July 21. Sir Henry Holland, has decided that the evidence is insufficient to justify him in removing Sir J. Pope Hennessy from the Governorship of Mauritius, but cautioned him as to future behaviour. KIDNAPPING NATIVES. Mr Chesson in a letter to the Times complains of French war vessels kidnapping natives from the New Hebrides and Solomon Islands. THE QUEEN’S TITLE NOT TO BE ALTERED. It is not likely now that any alteration will be made in the Queen’s title owing to the coolness of the Colonies about the matter. DEATH OF HERR KRUPP. The death is announced of Herr Krupp, the proprietor of the great gun manufactory, of Essen, Germany. THE IRISH LAND BILL. Mr Gladstone and Mr Parnell appealed to Mr Campbell Bannerman to withdraw his amendment to the Irish Land Bill, but leave was refused. RUSSIAN HOSTILITY TO GERMANS. It is reported that Bussian’merchants on the frontier have been ordered to dismiss all German clerks before September. MELBOURNE EXHIBITIONMr Berry has had an interview with the French Minister of Commerce respecting the representation of France at the Melbourne Exhibition. He also interviewed the Director of the Paris Exposition on the same subject on F riday.
