Jubilee Fair.

FOR some time past the ladies conected with the Gisborne Anglican Church have been busy working for their grand bazaar, which is to be held next week in Parnell’s Hall. When ladies work with a will as have done the female portion of the Holy Trinity congregation, the result is sure to be worth witnessing. From what we can learn, the special entertainments devised by them for next week are to be more than usually attractive, and extractive of money from the pockets of their visitors fair or otherwise. All sorts of plain and fancy work have been prepared by busy hands, and nothing is to oe left untouched' to work upon the financial affections of those who visit the hall. Stalls of various descriptions will be loaded with attractive novelties, whilst a series of amateur entertainments will afford amusement for all. Whether the Committee have stolen General Mite or not. we don’t know, but we notice they advertise a dwarf, whilst a performing bear is also to appear, A special feature of the Fair will be a Cafe Chantant modelled upon those which delight the visitor to Continental cities, Here coffee and tea and light refreshments will be served at little tables, whilst upon a temporary stage performances by local amateurs will take place at due intervals.

From the energetic manner in which the affair is being worked up, and the laudable object to which the money received is to be devoted—vis., the extinction of the debt upon Holy Trinity Church, we prophesy a big attendance.
