NEW ZEALAND RAILWAYS. npHE Railway Department urgently requires workmen for the renewal of the Railway Bridge over the Arnold River at Stillwater. The work will last several months, and for those who are suitable, or who so desire, will be offered further employment. Movements of personnel and freight by land, sea and air. CLERK GENERAL DUTIES: Secretarial and clerical duties. CLERK ACCOUNTING: Pay ledgers and pay lists. Accounting for stores etc. FIRECREW: Firefighting—specialist training covering aircraft fire risks in addition to normal qualifications required by civilian firemen. COOK (age limits 17i to 48 years): Training in dietary, elementary dietetics, presentation and serving of meals, practical butchery. OPPORTUNITIES IN ALL TECHNICAL AND RADIO TRADES. Initial engagements up to eight years with prospects of longer-term engagements whilst serving.
